Amanda Holden 'devastated' after losing baby LONDON (AFP) British actress Amanda Holden was said to be "devastated" on Monday after losing the baby she was expecting in her second miscarriage in nine months.

The judge of television talent contest "Britain's Got Talent" was seven months' pregnant when her baby boy was stillborn on Tuesday.

The 39-year-old only announced the pregnancy in January after six months, having lost a baby last year. She and her husband Chris Hughes have a five-year-old daughter Lexi.

The couple's spokeswoman Alison Griffin said they were "utterly devastated".

"Amanda had been closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and it is not yet known what went wrong.

"Both Chris and Amanda would like to thank the midwives and staff at The Queen Mary Maternity unit at West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth for their tremendous support."

A host of celebrities have offered their condolences online, with TV presenter Myleene Klass and former Spice Girl Emma Bunton -- who are both pregnant -- among those sending their sympathies via Twitter.

Klass wrote: "My sweetheart. I'm so very sorry. Please God, watch over your family and your little angel in heaven."

Bunton said: "Absolutely devastated for Amanda Holden and Chris. Thinking of them and sending our prayers at this very sad time."

Piers Morgan, who appeared alongside Holden as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, wrote: "So desperately sad for my special friend Amanda Holden -- sending her and Chris my love and prayers."
